Fear denies some people the pleasure of reaching their dreams. When you are in a fearful state you are more cautious and sometimes pass up opportunities that could open an entire world to you. When you are in a state of fear you also second-guess your own decisions. Uncertainty causes you to seek out the opinions of others, allowing them to influence your actions, and sometimes keep you from moving forward. Why? Because those who love us want to protect us, and no is a safer answer. If they say, “Yes, go for it!” and it doesn’t work out, they feel responsible. Don’t let fear hold you back. Be confident in the direction of your dreams and pursue them confidently. Fear of failure keeps some people from going after their dreams but gives others the passion to achieve those dreams. Fear and faith cannot coexist together, which means you can have the faith to move forward or allow fear to hold you back. Which do you choose? Faith or fear?
Something to Think About
Fear is one of the most powerful emotions that there are. It’s real and it effects all of us at one time or another. But it’s also a necessary component for change or risk. Some people will choose to stay in the safe zone and select the predictable outcome while others will take the risk, in search of something new and better. When faced with a tough decision, I always ask myself this question. What’s the worse that can happen? And can I live with that outcome? If so, I move forward.
This is the week to face your fears and break through a barrier. Which one will it be?
