Accepting Compliments
The next time someone gives you a compliment, just say “Thank you”. It’s so simple. It will make you and that person feel so good. Don’t shrug it off, play it down or reject the gift by saying something like, “It was nothing”. You’ll be denying yourself and the giver of the opportunity to share in a moment of gratitude and love. I think it’s natural to want to deflect attention, since the act on your part was one of kindness or in the spirit of helping. But compliments make us, and others feel good. Think of compliments as little confidence building vitamins for the soul. Just as we need the proper vitamins and nutrition to keep our bodies healthy, and our immune systems strong, our souls need protection too. 2020 has been filled with many challenges, and those challenges continue. During times of strife and challenge, it’s especially important to give to others, and to receive their gifts with joy gratitude.

You are worthy of praise and compliments. Soak them in!

Weekly Activity
Each day give someone around you a compliment for something they do. If they try to shrug it off, remind them that they are worthy of that compliment and to just say, “thank you”. Apply the same advice to yourself. Accept every compliment that comes your way!
